Incredibly impressed with the new Apple Watch Ultra. A few notes.

Been using it for a few days now and the battery really is that good. Just finished up a nearly twelve mile run, and only drained the battery 7%.

Not sure how I feel about the matt-esque finish on the metal, it isn’t quite as nice to the touch as the Ultra 2, but I think I’ll get used to it.

Not a huge fan of the burgundy band. I’ll probably try to replace it with something else eventually. The material and fit are fine, but the color isn’t my favorite. In addition it seems to bunch up around the side a bit (where it loops on itself) unless I tighten it just right. Probably something that will adjust with time, but I’m not liking it as much as previous iterations.

Siri—actually works. Maybe I just had bad like over the summer with the betas on my Ultra 2, or maybe the new ram in the Ultra 4 really changes things, but Siri AI seems to actually be taking requests and capturing information; 100% hit rate so far. A simple thing, but it’s literally the reason I use a Pebble Index 01. I want to be able to quickly capture reminders for later. Maybe the new Apple Watch solves this for me (and may be a reason to upgrade from my 16 Pro Max eventually. Ram really does fix things).

Other than that the new monitoring seems really nice, but not sure what practical effect it will have to capture my health data dozens more times per day.

The Ultra 2 really was a great machine (minus Siri), so it’s nice to see refinements on the hardware. And plus, our son gets an Apple Watch that will actually last through the day as his primary communication device (the latest SE model was absolutely horrendous for battery. I’d never recommend it).
